The Benefits of Meditation - Greater ability to sleep at a deeper level
One of the main reasons for not being able to sleep or having agitated, disturbed sleep is the thought patterns we have had in our mind during the day and in particular what we’re thinking just before we fall asleep.
Overactive analysis produces an endless stream of conception, a constant flow of consciousness appearing to have a life of itself…from its own side. So we may lie physically still, but a strong undercurrent of energy is controlling us – like an iced river, still on the top but a continuous stream of movement underneath.
The classical breathing meditation practice can aid our sleep. It’s a healthy, organic, natural way of creating a very calm environment which we can then fall into a deep nourishing sleep from.
